Projected Cost of a Child

Morgan Stanley states that raising a child to the age of 18 is projected to cost $245k. That’s $12,980 a year.

Holy cow! I need to start cutting coupons to survive the last 6 years with this kid. That is like a nice house!

What do you guys think about this #? Is it too high or just about right?
